The La Di Da Society is a registered charity that runs daytime cabaret and dance events for people of 60 years old at Ralli Hall in Hove. At each event, with up to 240 guests, we create a friendly, sociable and lively atmosphere where people can easily make friends and let their hair down! For £10, guests receive an afternoon tea served on vintage crockery, a glass of bubbly and a raffle ticket, as well as getting entertained by some top quality cabaret performers and our resident DJ. We also incorporate short, 5 minute interactive dances at each event that get everyone moving whether it's done sitting down or standing up.

We get many people who come on their own, the events are designed in a way to encourage interaction with others and meet new people. We also get lots of groups coming, these can be friendship groups as well as other local community organisations who bring the people they work with along. Our venue is fully accessible.

These events started in Hove 5 years ago as Duckie project The Posh Club. When the Brighton club ended, Becca, who had been running it, set up The La Di Da Society to continue its legacy, using the concept of The Posh Club but with a slightly different twist. We owe everything to The Posh Club, particularly its founders Annie Bowden & Simon Casson, and we can't thank them enough for giving us their support with this project! The Posh Club continues to run in other areas of the South East.

Meet The Team!

Daisy

Daisy has been running the kitchen since day one, where she has earned herself the reputation of making the best afternoon tea in town. We don't think her sandwiches can be beaten! Daisy lives locally with her daughter and cat, she can often be spotted dancing in a field to Fatboy Slim.

Sian

Sian began her journey with us as a volunteer, however when we spotted her precision sandwich making skills we had to offer her a job! Sian is also an expert gardener.

Charlie

Tech Maestro and DJ

Charlie deals with all of the tech for our events and also plays some rocking tunes! He loves to dance and can often be spotted on the ballroom floor showing off his moves.

Louise is another veteran volunteer who has been with us since the beginning. She is a dab hand in the kitchen and keeps the tea and coffee flowing at all times. She has double jointed thumbs and in her spare time she grows giant cacti in Hove!

Nicole
